How do we create sports facilities that meet the needs of tomorrow?
Time: 9.00-15.00
Location: J2
This master class is held in English and is organised by IAKS Nordic and the Danish Foundation for Culture and Sports Facilities (LOA).
Are we facing a shortage of sports facilities, or are we simply building facilities that no longer meet the needs of society? And how can innovation help us create spaces that encourage physical activity, strengthen communities and remain relevant for generations to come?
Join IAKS Nordic and the Danish Foundation for Culture and Sports Facilities (LOA) for an interactive master class exploring how innovation can transform the way we plan, design and develop sports and leisure facilities.
Drawing on Nordic research, practical experience and real-world examples, the master class challenges traditional approaches to facility development. Discover how to move beyond standardised solutions, put user needs at the centre of the process and create lasting value for both communities and society.
Through three interactive sessions combining expert insights, discussions and group work, participants will explore why innovation matters, how to turn knowledge and vision into action, and what we should actually be building for the future.
Designed for decision-makers, planners, architects, facility developers and professionals working with sports and leisure infrastructure, this is an opportunity to exchange perspectives, challenge established thinking and gain practical tools for developing more sustainable, inclusive and future-ready facilities.
